Deep Brain Stimulation
Find a Neurosciences Specialist
Deep Brain Stimulation is primarily used to treat advanced Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia. A pacemaker-like medical device is surgically implanted inside the body and delivers electrical stimulation to targeted areas of the brain, which blocks the signals that cause disabling motor symptoms of the disease.
