As the region’s authority in oncology, The Saint Vincent Cancer Care Center is an active participant in vital research in the fight against cancer. We are proud to partner with other leaders in cancer care and advocacy. 

Pennsylvania Cancer Care Coalition
Saint Vincent is a participant in the Pennsylvania Cancer Care Coalition initiatives to improve cancer care throughout the state through education, screenings, research and advocacy using funds from a tobacco industry settlement. Members of the coalition work in collaboration with leading cancer care researchers throughout the state to provide the best cancer care.
           
The Regional Cancer Center
The residents of our region are fortunate to have exceptional outpatient cancer treatment services available through The Regional Cancer Center. Experts at the Saint Vincent Cancer Care Center are also privileged to collaborate with their peers at The Regional Cancer Center to offer advanced care, services and support to patients. With The Regional Cancer Center facilities located throughout the region, patients can receive outpatient chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other services from a highly experienced team of cancer specialists and have direct access to the very latest technology.

Saint Vincent’s partnership with The Regional Cancer Center means Saint Vincent Cancer Care Center patients have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clinical research trials.

The B-39 Trials
Physicians at Saint Vincent have been specially trained to participate in the NSABP B-39/RTOG 0413 clinical trials, which will 3,000 women from North America at approximately 150 study sites. This phase III study explores conventional Whole Breast Irradiation vs. Partial Breast Irradiation for women with stage 0, I or II breast cancer.

Tumor Registry
Saint Vincent participates in the Tumor Registry, a program that tracks cancer staging, treatment, clinical trial participation, and outcomes of cancer patients in the region.
